Description

This aircraft is in great shape and has all the popular Alaska Super Cub modifications, including a 2000 lb maximum gross weight upgrade, Lycoming 180 HP engine, reinforced 3rd seat baggage area, headerless fuel system, and even external load permit(s) for both wheels and floats. Completely rebuilt at CubCrafters in 2006 to the exacting specifications of a longtime Alaska resident that had previously owned more than 25 different Super Cubs, this aircraft is the ultimate Alaska PA-18 bush machine that has every conceivable PA-18 improvement and STC all wrapped up into one great package. With only a little over 600 hours since being completely re-built, and always having been hangered when not in use; its very apparent this aircraft has been well cared for.

The external load approval to carry trophy horns, snowshoes, cross-country skis, rifles, rifle scabbards, or even dimensional lumber (when on floats) is particularly valuable when in Alaska. We at CubCrafters get asked about external load permits all the time, they are not transferable between aircraft and they simply haven’t been issued by the FAA for many years; the only way to get external load approval on a Super Cub anymore is to buy an aircraft that already has been approved. It’s a great value-added feature that is highly desirable.

N4293Z has an upgraded instrument panel, VG’s and automatically drooping ailerons for slow flight, the big 180 HP engine, the long 82″ prop, extended landing gear and tundra tires for off-airport work, and the belly pod for extra fuel and cargo; everything you could imagine for a truly backcountry capable PA-18 has already been done, this aircraft is ready to go for any adventure!
