CubCrafters, an industry leader in light aircraft manufacturing, has an opening for a Mechanical Designer. It is a job that offers a wide variety and the opportunity to be part of a great team to design, build, test, and innovate aircraft. This position will be responsible mainly for structural and mechanical design projects, and other tasks as needs arise.
Designing mechanical components for general aviation aircraft
Designing tools and fixtures for general aviation aircraft
Creating and revising computer models in SolidWorks
Creating and revising engineering drawings in SolidWorks
Assisting in testing and documenting testing of aircraft components and assemblies
Other duties as assigned
Conducts business in a respectful and productive manner
Bring about successful implementation of new product through successful design and test work
Foster good working relationships with all personnel
Associate degree or higher in related engineering field or equivalent work experience
2+ years’ experience preferred
Experience with drafting per ASME Y14.5M, as well as experience in mechanical design
Proficiency with design and model software: SolidWorks
Ability to work independently in a dynamic work environment
Understanding of manufacturing processes
Understanding of lean manufacturing preferred
Strong technical, problem and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to present data effectively
Pay is DOE: Range is $48,000 to $70,000
