2018 will be the 49th Cracker Fly In. \u00a0Over the years, EAA611 has only had to cancel a few Cracker Fly-In\u2019s due to bad weather. \u00a0We do all we can to put on a great event\u00a0for the community but we have no control over mother nature.<\/p>\n
The Cracker\u00a0Fly-In was created by the Antique Aircraft Association based in Atlanta GA. \u00a0The event was created for their club back in the 60\u2019s and was a multi day event including a formal ball. \u00a0This event was closed to the public and was\u00a0only for the AAA members. \u00a0There is much debate over where the name of the event came from. \u00a0Some say that it was always\u00a0held on the 4th of July and was\u00a0named after the fireworks events that happen the\u00a0evening of the 4th. \u00a0Some say it was named in conjunction with Atlanta sports teams like the Atlanta Crackers.<\/p>\n
In 1978, EAA611 joined AAA and soon took over the Cracker Fly-In, opening the event to the public. \u00a0AAA no longer exists, but the Cracker\u00a0Fly-In is very much alive. \u00a0Our goal is to share our passion of aviation with the community and welcome everyone, young and old to come look at planes, helicopters, cars and more. \u00a0We typically offer rides of many types for sale to those excited to take to the skies. \u00a0We hope you enjoy the Cracker Fly-In and take home memories.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
