Oshkosh, WI \u2013 July 24, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 During EAA AirVenture this week, CubCrafters delivered the first of three brand-new NXCubs to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University\u2019s Golden Eagles Precision Flight Team, based out of the university\u2019s Prescott, Arizona campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This delivery follows Embry-Riddle\u2019s recent decision that they would be adding three NXCubs to their fleet to support their highly competitive student flight team. The Golden Eagles have a long history of success in the\u00a0National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA), and once again earned another championship at this year\u2019s\u00a0SAFECON\u00a0national competition, held right here in Oshkosh.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The addition of the NXCub gives the team a new edge. With its rugged design, modern avionics, and excellent short takeoff and landing (STOL) performance, the NXCub brings the kind of handling characteristics and visibility that make it great for student training and precision flying. Its tricycle landing gear setup (instead of the traditional tailwheel) improves ground handling and accessibility, especially in crosswind conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those unfamiliar, NIFA brings together collegiate aviation programs from across the country to compete in both ground-based and in-flight events that emphasize safety, precision, and airmanship. It\u2019s a serious program, and Embry-Riddle\u2019s Prescott team has consistently been one of the best in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to be working with Embry-Riddle and to see our aircraft supporting the next generation of pilots,\u201d said Brad Damm, Vice President of CubCrafters. \u201cThese students are flying at a very high level, and we think the NXCub is going to be a great fit for what they\u2019re doing, both in competition and in their development as professional aviators.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The handoff took place at the Embry-Riddle booth at EAA AirVenture and included Embry-Riddle President Dr. P. Barry Butler, Trustee Ken Dufour, along with CubCrafters\u2019 Brad Damm and Jonny McKinny, CubCrafters Services Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
