CubCrafters Offers New Garmin Transponders with Integrated\u00a0ADS<\/span>-B Functionality<\/h3>\n

CubCrafters has announced two new transponders for Carbon Cub buyers who select the company\u2019s Executive\u00a0GLASS<\/span>\u00a0touch instrument panel, which includes Garmin\u2019s G3X Touch 10.6\u201d flight display system. The new transponders, Garmin\u2019s\u00a0GTX<\/span>\u00a0335R and\u00a0GTX<\/span>\u00a0345R, both include an integrated\u00a0WAAS<\/span>\/GPS<\/span>\u00a0position source enabling\u00a0ADS<\/span>-B \u201cOut\u201d functionality. Thus, all new Carbon Cubs equipped with Executive\u00a0GLASS<\/span>\u00a0touch panels will satisfy NextGen requirements for\u00a0ADS<\/span>-B compliance.<\/p>\n

The Garmin\u00a0GTX<\/span>\u00a0335R will be included as standard equipment on CubCrafters\u2019 Executive\u00a0GLASS<\/span>\u00a0touch panels installed on the company\u2019s production Carbon Cub models. The\u00a0GTX<\/span>\u00a0335R will also be included with Executive\u00a0GLASS<\/span>\u00a0touch panels purchased for Carbon Cub EX-2 aircraft kits.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0GTX<\/span>\u00a0335R is a 1090 MHz transponder that allows Carbon Cub owners to operate at any altitude, in any airspace around the globe. It combines a Mode S Extended Squitter (ES) transponder and\u00a0WAAS<\/span>\/GPS<\/span>\u00a0position source in a single unit.<\/p>\n

Garmin\u2019s\u00a0GTX<\/span>\u00a0345R will be offered as an Option on CubCrafters Executive\u00a0GLASS<\/span>\u00a0touch panels. Like the GTX335R, the\u00a0GTX<\/span>\u00a0345R is a 1090 MHz transponder with Mode S Extended Squitter (ES) and\u00a0WAAS<\/span>\/GPS<\/span>\u00a0position source, but the\u00a0GTX<\/span>\u00a0345R also provides dual-link\u00a0ADS<\/span>-B \u201cIn\u201d traffic and subscription-free weather on the G3X Touch flight display.<\/p>\n

Both the\u00a0GTX<\/span>\u00a0335R and\u00a0GTX<\/span>\u00a0345R are remote-mount instruments that do not occupy valuable panel space, and are intuitively controlled on the Garmin G3X Touch flight display.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we approach the mandated 2020\u00a0ADS<\/span>-B deadline, most Carbon Cub buyers are already choosing optional \u201cadd-on\u201d instruments that satisfy the NextGen requirements, such as Garmin\u2019s\u00a0GPS<\/span>\u00a020A\u201d, says Randy Lervold, CubCrafters\u2019 President. \u201cThese new Garmin transponders deliver an elegant, integrated\u00a0ADS<\/span>-B solution that functions seamlessly on our Executive\u00a0GLASS<\/span>\u00a0touch panel.\u201d<\/p>\n
