SUMMARY:Cracker Fly-In
DESCRIPTION:2018 will be the 49th Cracker Fly In.  Over the years\, EAA611 has only had to cancel a few Cracker Fly-In’s due to bad weather.  We do all we can to put on a great event for the community but we have no control over mother nature. \nThe Cracker Fly-In was created by the Antique Aircraft Association based in Atlanta GA.  The event was created for their club back in the 60’s and was a multi day event including a formal ball.  This event was closed to the public and was only for the AAA members.  There is much debate over where the name of the event came from.  Some say that it was always held on the 4th of July and was named after the fireworks events that happen the evening of the 4th.  Some say it was named in conjunction with Atlanta sports teams like the Atlanta Crackers. \nIn 1978\, EAA611 joined AAA and soon took over the Cracker Fly-In\, opening the event to the public.  AAA no longer exists\, but the Cracker Fly-In is very much alive.  Our goal is to share our passion of aviation with the community and welcome everyone\, young and old to come look at planes\, helicopters\, cars and more.  We typically offer rides of many types for sale to those excited to take to the skies.  We hope you enjoy the Cracker Fly-In and take home memories.

SUMMARY:AirVenture
DESCRIPTION:For 51 weeks a year\, EAA is an international community of more than 200\,000 members that nurtures the spirit of flight through a worldwide network of chapters\, outreach programs\, and other events. \nBut for one week each summer\, EAA members and aviation enthusiasts totaling more than 500\,000 from 80 countries attend EAA AirVenture at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh\, Wisconsin\, where they rekindle friendships and celebrate the past\, present\, and future in the world of flight. \nThe World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration has it all when it comes to aircraft. Warbirds. Vintage. Homebuilts. Ultralights. Some you would normally find in a hangar at your local airport\, others so unique they are the only one of their kind. \nYou name it\, there’s likely an example of it at Oshkosh. \nFor many\, arriving at Oshkosh is a rite of passage that can only be satisfied by being one of the more than 10\,000 aircraft flying in\, landing at what becomes the busiest airport in the world. \nWhether you’re an aviation enthusiast or an aviation novice\, AirVenture has something for you. No matter what your age\, you’ll be entertained\, informed\, and thrilled by the countless activities available that reflect “The Spirit of Aviation” all around. \nDaily air shows. Aerobatics and pyrotechnics. Feature films at the Fly-In Theater. Forums\, workshops\, and demonstrations. KidVenture. Special programming at Theater in the Woods. All of this\, plus much\, much more is included with your daily admission. \nAdd in the crowd-thrilling\, show-stopping Night Air Show on Wednesday and Saturday night\, and you have affordable fun for the entire family every day from sunup to well past sundown. \nThere is uniqueness to each AirVenture that keeps lifelong attendees coming back for more. You need to experience it to understand. \nExperience Oshkosh with us. It doesn’t matter what you see; you just have to see it for yourself.

SUMMARY:SLOAS Field Fly-In
DESCRIPTION:The Arlington Fly-In\, known as the  West Coast Premier Recreation Aviation Event\, takes place the first weekend after the 4th of July each year at the Arlington Municipal Airport\, Washington state.  Our mission to share the joy of flight comes alive during this three-day celebration. \nThe Arlington Fly-In began as a one-day fly-in and spaghetti feed in 1969.  It has grown to become one of the most popular sport aviation events in the West. The “County Fair with Airplanes” is one of the friendliest fly-in destinations.  This event has something for everyone\, from radio-controlled flight to hot air balloons to bi-plane rides. \nOver 1\,000 aircraft including powered parachutes\, home-builts\, classic\, vintage and warbirds. and 55\,000 guests participate in and enjoy the festival of aerobatics\, hands-on workshops\, educational forums\, aircraft judging and many other aviation-oriented activities.  General admission tickets are $15 for adults\, children 15 and under are free.

SUMMARY:Curtiss Seaplane Homecoming
DESCRIPTION:Wings and Wheels in Hammondsport is an annual event sponsored by and for the benefit of The Glenn H. Curtiss Museum. All proceeds go directly to the Curtiss Museum and we encourage you to visit it while you’re in Hammondsport. It’s a must see if you’ve never been and if you’ve been you should go back because so much has changed recently! \nSeaplanes will be parked at Depot Park in Hammondsport at the head of Keuka Lake. Show cars will be parked along Shethar St. and on Park Place adjacent to the Village Square. All are within a short\, easy walk. \nThere will be lots to do for kids of all ages so plan to bring them! The Seaplane activity at Depot Park is always a favorite for kids. This will be on going Saturday and Sunday. The car show will feature unique and interesting cars that always captivate the young ones too. There will be a trophy given out each day during the car show for that day’s “Kids Choice Award” so while you’re looking at and deciding on which cars to vote for (more info on awards below) your self\, your children will do the same. We want their involvement and votes each day at the car show. There will also be a “Kid Zone” at the museum tent in Depot Park with specific activities geared toward kids. Then of course there is the Museum\, which you’re encouraged to visit while you’re here. Leave your car where it is and take the shuttle! \nSeaplane rides will be available (for a fee) at Depot Park starting Friday afternoon and will go through Saturday and Sunday. Rides will be provided by Finger Lakes Seaplanes\, LLC.\, based in Pulteney\, NY. They will be approximately 30 minutes in duration and will be on and around Keuka Lake. Rides will be available on a first come\, first served basis and are of course\, weather permitting. Please keep in mind that wind and water surface state are included in “Weather”. The professional team at Finger Lakes Seaplanes\, LLC will decide on their ability to operate given the conditions. Their aircraft can accommodate 3 passengers plus the pilot. Groups of 2 may be asked to separate across 2 rides so the aircraft is always able to fly with those 3 seats occupied. \n  \n
