Description

2001 Backcountry Beauty

When real adventure beckons, we must answer the call.  Quite literally this could be the best package to get started with.  CubCrafters Northeast/Great Lakes is very pleased to offer this 2001 Piper/CubCrafters built PA-18-150. (N274CC).  Built under the spare and surplus rule back in 2001 CubCrafters took the best products at the time and assembled what can only be described as the best Super Cub ever.  With its extensive list of STC’s, modifications and options, you too will see that this is the one that does it all.

With the installation of a Lycoming o-360 C1G 180 hp, CubCrafters immediately made this aircraft capable for the back country or backwater.  Yes, also available is a set of like new Wipline 2100A amphibious floats.  That means adventure where you want and when you want.  Currently on 8:50 wheels and tires with grove brakes, the empty weight is just 1184# and a max gross weight upgrade to 2000# means this cub has an 816# useful load.  Toss on the floats and you have #460 useful.  In addition to this landing gear is also a like new set of Wipaire hydraulic skis.  You can use your cub anywhere and in all seasons, just like it was meant for.  Hit those frozen lakes and ponds and don’t forget your tip ups.  While you are at it, picture yourself filling the extended baggage compartment with the gear you need for the overnight and then adding extra fuel to your pre mounted airglass fuel/cargo pod.  It just does not get any better than this.  Other nice features such as gear safety cables, Alaska baby bush wheel, vortex generators and a plush cloth interior make the airplane fully functional and comfortable too.

In addition to being a heavily optioned Super Cub, the full complement of avionics which includes electronics international engine management gauges, garmin GNC 250XL GPS/COM and a garmin GTX327 transponder as well at the PM1000II intercom, you can still access the busy traffic space when you come down out of the hill country.

This super cub is available for immediate sale and all reasonable offers are encouraged.  A recent annual on 1/7/18 had compressions at 75,75,72,75 over 80.  The aircraft had a prop strike back in 03’/04’ at(163 TTSN)that is well documented and appropriate repairs were made per CubCrafters & Lycoming specs.  I have all logs and documents from day one. (some listed in the photos).  Years of trouble free service have brought us to where we are now.  It is May, the snow is gone, temperatures are rising, and now you can plan the adventure of a lifetime.  Buy this one and start today.
